GOING STREAKING: Enjulina Gonzalez has scored in double figures 11-straight games, dating back to Dec. 1. During that span, she has surpassed 20 points five different times, including a season-high 29 points in a win at FIU. She was named MAC Player of the week twice during the month of December and currently ranks third in the MAC in scoring (16.9).
DOUBLE TROUBLE: Amber Tretter has recorded 13 double-doubles in her career, including three this year. On the season she nearly averages a double-double in points (11.1) and rebounds (7.8), despite only playing 26.8 minutes per contest.
ABOUT AKRON: Akron enters Wednesday's contest at 9-9 overall and 3-3 in conference play, despite dropping a pair of MAC games last week to Central Michigan and Ball State. Alexus Mobley is tops on the team at 12.8 points/game, while Shelbee Brown leads the way in rebounds (7.9).
SERIES HISTORY: This will be the 65th meeting between the two schools, with Miami holding a 40-24 series advantage. Miami captured a 58-48 win at Akron a year ago, snapping an eight-game losing streak to the Zips. Miami has not beaten UA at home since March 9, 2019 (66-49).
NOTES FROM LOSS AT BUFFALO:Â
• Miami dropped a 58-51 contest on the road at Buffalo last Saturday.
• The RedHawks led for the first 35 minutes of the contest and held a eight-point advantage (51-43) with 7:10 to play. Buffalo closed the game on a 16-0 run for the win.
• Miami shot a season-high 34 three pointers (made nine) and were outscored 18-2 at the free throw line.
• Buffalo entered the contest leading the MAC in scoring (77.4) but were held to just 58 points last Saturday.
WINNING WITH DEFENSE:
• Miami ranks atop the conference, allowing 56.1 points per game. The RedHawks have held five opponents to under 50 points this season and rank third in opponent field-goal percentage (38.0%).
• Miami has forced 354 turnovers this season, second-best in the conference. The RedHawks are 7-3 on the year when they force their opponent into 20-plus turnovers.Â
• Miami leads the conference with 11.9 steals/game and features five players ranked in the top-20:

BOMBS AWAY: Miami ranks second in the MAC in three pointers made per game (7.8) and percentage made from behind the arc (35.2%).
Enjulina Gonzalez (48.4%) is tops in the MAC and
Tamar Singer (38.9%) is eighth from long distance. The two newcomers have combined to connect on 45-of-100 (45.0%) triples.
1,000 POINT CLUB: Maya Chandler has scored 1,167 career points between three different programs. She has scored 141 points with the RedHawks, had 149 points in one season at SMU and in three years at Loyola-Chicago she scored 877 points and was named the Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Year in 2020-21. She has played in 133 games throughout her career, making 113 starts.
IN THE MAC: Miami has a handful of players at or near the top of several statistical categories.

Enjulina Gonzalez (16.9) ranks third in the MAC in scoring, while
Amber Tretter (11.1) is 21st. Tretter is also fifth in rebounding (7.8), eighth in blocks (0.9) and seventh in field goal percentage (48.8%).

Tamar Singer ranks eighth in the MAC in assists (3.9) and 10th in assist/turnover ratio (1.0).

Enjulina Gonzalez is the lone player on the team that ranks in the top-25 in minutes played (29.8, 20th).
HANGING AROUND: Senior
Katey Richason, along with
Clare Chambers, are the lone remaining players prior to Coach Box's arrival. Richason has made the most of the change in leadership. Last season the Zionsville, Ind. native recorded career-bests in points (8.7), rebounds (5.7) and free throws made (34).
