Miami Hockey returns home to Steve "Coach" Cady Arena for the first time in 41 days as the RedHawks host Omaha for a two-game series. The RedHawks are 3-15-2 (0-10-0 NCHC) after a pair of losses at then-No. 6/6 Denver (4-1 and 6-2 scores). The Mavericks come in at 10-10-0 (6-4-0 NCHC), having swept then-No.13/14 Colorado College last weekend in Omaha by scores of 5-2 and 3-1, and are receiving votes in both national polls.
This week's games are set for Friday, Jan. 17 and Saturday, Jan. 18, with puck drop at 7:05 p.m. both nights. The games will stream on NCHC.tv, with radio coverage on WKBV 1490 AM (Richmond, Ind.) Friday and WMOH 1450 AM The Ticket (Hamilton, Ohio) Saturday. Greg Waddell (play-by-play) and Drew Davis (analyst) will have the call. Miami's collegiate synchronized skating team will perform at an intermission Friday, and fans are invited to 'Skate with the Hawks' after Saturday night's contest;
tickets for this weekend's series are available now.
Johnny Waldron (4-10-14) leads the RedHawks in both points and assists, and
Matt Choupani (5-7-12) tops the Red and White in goals. Goaltender
Bruno Bruveris has posted a 2-9-1 record (3.90 GAA, .876 save percentage), while
Ethan Dahlmeir is 1-5-1 between the pipes (3.45 GAA, .881 save %) but hasn't played since leaving Miami's Dec. 6 game due to injury.
