ON TAP: The Miami University women's basketball team begins the first of a two-game road trip with a Wednesday, Jan. 15 contest at Northern Illinois. Opening tip is set for 7 p.m.
GOING STREAKING: Enjulina Gonzalez has scored in double figures nine-straight games, dating back to Dec. 1. During that span, she has surpassed 20 points four different times, including a season-high 29 points in a win at FIU. She was named MAC Player of the week twice during the month of December and currently ranks fourth in the MAC in scoring (16.4).
DOUBLE TROUBLE: Amber Tretter recorded 10 double-doubles last season as a true freshman with the RedHawks. In fact, her 222 rebounds was the most in a single-season by a freshman in program history. This season she is nearly averaging a double-double in points (11.4) and rebounds (7.7), despite only playing 27.4 minutes per contest. She is coming off a season-best 17 points in the win over BGSU.
ABOUT NORTHERN ILLINOIS: NIU is 7-8 on the year and 1-3 in MAC play. After opening conference play with a 1-point win at Toledo, the Huskies have dropped three-straight conference games. The Huskies feature a balanced offensive attack, with four players averaging double figures. Brooke Stonebraker is tops on the team in scoring (11.6) and rebounds (7.1).
SERIES HISTORY: This will be the 49th meeting between the two programs, with NIU holding a 25-23 all-time series advantage. NIU has won the last two contests and the RedHawks have won just once in DeKalb in the last five trips.
NOTES FROM BGSU WIN: Miami is coming off a 78-63 home win over BGSU last Saturday.
• Miami had four double-digit scorers in the contest for the first time all season.

Maya Chandler, playing in her 131st career game, scored a career-best 25 points versus the Falcons. She was 8-9 from the floor (3-of-3 from long distance) and a perfect 6-of-6 from the foul line.

Katey Richason played a season-high 30 minutes and chipped in 10 points and a career-best three assists.
• For the second time this season the RedHawks shot over 50% (8-15) from behind the arc. They also converted 16-of-17 free throws.

Tamar Singer returned from injury and recorded a career-high seven assists.
WINNING WITH DEFENSE: Miami ranks atop the conference, allowing just 56.2 points per game. The RedHawks have held five opponents to under 50 points this season and rank third in opponent field-goal percentage (38.1%).
• Miami has forced 318 turnovers this season, second-best in the conference. The RedHawks are 6-3 on the year when they force their opponent into 20-plus turnovers.Â
• Miami leads the conference with 11.93 steals/game and features six players ranked in the top-21:

THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN: Coach Box added seven new faces to the 2024-25 season and their impact was felt immediately. Five of Miami's top six scorers are newcomers this season and five of the top seven rebounders were on a different team a year ago. Freshman

BOMBS AWAY: Miami ranks third in the MAC in three pointers made per game (7.6) and is first in percentage made from behind the arc (36.3%).
Enjulina Gonzalez (47.3%) and
Tamar Singer (46.2%) rank atop the MAC shooting percentages, while
Cori Lard (42.9%),
Amber Tretter (40.6%) and Núria Jurjo (40.0%) are all shooting 40% or better from behind the arc this season.
1,000 POINT CLUB: Maya Chandler has scored 1,147 career points between three different programs. She has scored 121 points with the RedHawks, had 149 points in one season at SMU and in three years at Loyola-Chicago she scored 877 points and was named the Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Year in 2020-21. She has played in 131 games throughout her career, making 111 starts.
IN THE MAC: Miami has a handful of players at or near the top of several statistical categories.

Enjulina Gonzalez (16.4) ranks fourth in the MAC in scoring, while
Amber Tretter (11.4) is 19th. Tretter is also fifth in rebounding (7.6), fourth in blocks (1.0) and fourth in field goal percentage (51.9%).

Tamar Singer ranks eighth in the MAC in assists (4.0).
•
Enjulina Gonzalez is the lone player on the team that ranks in the top-25 in minutes played (29.3, 23rd).
HANGING AROUND: Senior
Katey Richason, along with
Clare Chambers, are the lone remaining players prior to Coach Box's arrival. Richason has made the most of the change in leadership. Last season the Zionsville, Ind. native recorded career-bests in points (8.7), rebounds (5.7) and free throws made (34).
