RedHawks Silence Screaming Eagles

Evansville, Ind.- The Miami soccer team won 2-0 in a match against Southern Indiana at Strassweg Field Sunday afternoon. The RedHawks are now 3-1-2 and Southern Indiana is now 0-6-1.  

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Makenna Morrison scored the first goal for the RedHawks after she got a flick on header on a free kick sent in by Maris Jennings in the 28th minute.
  • Southern Indiana had a free kick ring off the crossbar in the 74th minute as they looked for the equalizer.
  • Taylor Hamlett scored a header inside the six-yard box after a corner sailed over to Kylee Beinecke and she put it back in the area in the 78th minute. 


NOTES

  • Hamlett led the RedHawks with six shots and three shots on goal.
  • Dominique Popa earns her second straight clean sheet.
  • Miami held Southern Indiana to zero shots on goal. 
  • Miami had 15 shots to Southern Indiana's seven.
