RedHawks Start Cross Country Season Strong

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky.-- The RedHawk cross country teams got their season started Friday evening by running in the Queen City Invitational, hosted by Northern Kentucky. Both the men and women ran the 5k, with the women finishing in second place with 35 points, and the men finishing in third place with 48 points.

The RedHawks will travel to Terre Haute, Ind. on Saturday, September 21 to compete in the John McNichols Invitational at Indiana State University.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- For the women, Cara Razavi led Miami by coming in third place with a time of 19:17.9. Ella Daddario (19:44.9) and Avery Emerson (19:58.8) were right behind Razavi as they came in fourth and fifth place, respectively. Gianna Labbiento was the last RedHawk to place in the top ten, she finished in eighth place with a time of 20:19.9. In her first collegiate meet, Isabella Ferriman came in 19th place with a time of 21:01.4. Cara Naas ran unattached and finished in 12th place with a time of 20:36.5.
- For the men, Chris Perkins was the highest placing RedHawk: he finished in second place with a time of 15:21.7. Victor Orsinelli was right behind Perkins, finishing in fourth place with a time of 15:40.6. Josh Razor (16:15.1) and Weston Naville (16:21.1) finished in 12th and 15th place, respectively. Jack Fleming finished in 28th place with a time of 17:06.8. The Miami men also had two runners run unattached: Ben Fahnestock finished in eighth place with a time of 16:09.9, and Nick Dunn finished in 17th place with a time of 16:23.4.
