RedHawks Compete at Pre Nationals Invitational

COLUMBIA, Mo. — The Miami RedHawks cross country team traveled to the University of Missouri to compete in the Pre-National Invitational hosted at the Gans Creek XC Course on Friday morning. The women placed 23rd out of 38 teams, and the men placed 22nd out of 31 teams.
How it Happened:
- Leading the RedHawk women in the 6-kilometer race was Marisa Heil running a time of 20:33.5 and taking 49th place out of 339 runners. She beat her previous 6k personal best by 47.5 seconds. Ava Nuttall was the second finisher for the RedHawks, placing 105th with a time of 21:09.5.
- Nora Zubillaga (21:44.0), Cara Razavi (21:48.2), Linda Conchetto (21:57.0), Cara Naas (22:20.4), Emma Morrow (23:11.3), Emma Berres (23:13.4) and Monica Guijarro (23:29.1) all also competed for the red and white in the 6k event.
- Chris Perkins was the first of the Miami men to finish the 8k in 24:21.5, placing 70th out of 268 runners. Petros Sanchez Ropero (25:09.6) and Tom Heal (25:09.8) crossed the finish line next for the RedHawks in 144th and 145th place respectively.
- Other racers for the RedHawk men include: Weston Naville (25:16.9), Patrick Wills (25:25.1), Josh Razor (25:28.3), Luke Mussard (25:31.4), Ben Fahnestock (25:34.3), Taman Chokshi (25:55.6), Adrian Stechschulte (27:00.0) and Brock Waugh (27:01.1).
