RedHawk Men Take 2nd, Women 5th at MAC-Championships

BUFFALO, N.Y.- The Miami RedHawks cross country team traveled to Buffalo, N.Y. to compete in the Mid-American Conference Championship meet on Saturday. The men finished second overall with 80 points. This is the 11th year in a row that the Miami men have had a top-three finish at the MAC championships.
In women's action, the team placed fifth overall, scoring 171 points. This is the best team finish at the MAC championship meet for the RedHawk women since 2022.
How it Happened
● Finishing first for the RedHawk men were Chris Perkins (24:46.8) and Petros Sanchez (24:51.0), finishing 13th and 14th, respectively.
● Patrick Wills (24:55.7), Tom Heal (24:55.8) and Luke Mussard (25:00.4) all finished in the top 20, Mussard running a 10-second personal best.
● Other RedHawk runners were Weston Naville (25:22.2), Ben Fahnestock (25:33.0), Josh Razor (25:34.2), Evan Jarold (25:57.0) and Brock Waugh (26:40.7).
● Marisa Heil was the first of the Miami women to finish, placing 14th and running the 6k in 21:10.7. Nora Zubillaga (21:39.0) was next for the women and ran a personal best in the 6k.
● Other Miami racers include Linda Conchetto (22:01.0), Ava Nuttall (22:08.6), Cara Razavi (22:20.4), Cara Naas (22:24.8), Emma Morrow (22:58.2), Monica Guijarro (23:02.7) and Emma Berres (24:14.2). Morrow and Guijarro ran 6k personal records.
2025 All-MAC Cross Country
● Chris Perkins and Petros Sanchez were both named Second-Team All-MAC for the Miami men.
● On the women's side, Marisa Heil was also recognized as Second-Team All-MAC.
