Peyton Olejnik Selected by Angels in MLB Draft

OXFORD, Ohio— Miami pitcher Peyton Olejnik was selected in the sixth round of the 2024 MLB Draft today by the Los Angeles Angels. Olejnik, a Cedar Lake, Ind. native, was the 172nd overall pick.
Olejnik finished the 2024 season with a 9-1 record (tied for first in the MAC) and a 4.76 ERA (eighth in the MAC). He struck out 84 hitters (fourth in the MAC) in 64.1 innings. He completed his junior year with an opposing batting average of .244 (fifth in the MAC), 60 hits allowed (fifth in the MAC) and 37 runs allowed (fifth in the MAC).
