Virginia Takes Down No. 21 Miami 6-0

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.— The No. 21 Miami University softball team saw its season end Saturday night with a 6-0 loss to Virginia in the NCAA Tournament. Virginia (34-19) advances to play No. 3 Tennessee in Sunday's regional final. The RedHawks close the campaign at 49-9.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Virginia got on the board first with a solo home run to right-center in the third inning.
- The Cavaliers tacked on four runs in the fifth. After an RBI single made it 2-0, UVA's Shelby Barbee hit a three-run homer to left to stretch the margin to 5-0.
- Virginia added a run in the sixth inning, following a leadoff triple with a base hit to right-center.
GAME NOTES:
- Allie Cummins collected Miami's only hit in the sixth inning.
- Addy Jarvis (5 IP) and Madilyn Reeves (2 IP) combined in the circle to strike out six Cavaliers and allow just two earned runs.
