DeKALB, Ill.— The Miami women finished the second day of the MAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships with 26.5 points and in seventh place, while the Miami men finished with 21 points and in fifth place. Mia Boule won the women's pole vault, while Petros Sanchez Ropero highlighted the men's performances with a runner-up showing in the steeplechase.

The MAC Championships conclude Saturday, beginning with the men's discus throw at 1:30 p.m. ET.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the women's heptathlon, Amanda Kaufman finished in 10th place in the 800-meter with a time of 2:46.52.
- For the women, Kayla Walters finished in fourth place in the 100-meter hurdle prelims with a personal best time of 13.95 seconds to qualify for Saturday's finals. In the women's 400-meter prelims, Abby Suszek finished in fifth place with a time of 54.76 seconds, advancing to the finals tomorrow. Lucca Agate also ran in the 400-meter prelims, and she finished in ninth place with a personal-best time of 55.15 seconds.
- For the women, Julia Rushing (10:31.17) and Jenna Sayle (10:44.81) finished in sixth and ninth place in the 3000m steeplechase, respectively. Rushing and Sayle both set new personal records, Rushing beat her previous time by 8.18 seconds and Sayle beat her previous time by 6.81 seconds.
- On the field for the women, Boule finished in first place in the pole vault event with a personal best distance of 4.03 meters! Grace Hicks (3.65 meters) and Emily Eterovich (3.50 meters) also competed in the pole vault event, and they finished in fifth and sixth place, respectively. Hicks set a new personal record and beat her previous record by .13 meters. Santornya Ralliford finished in sixth place with a personal-best distance of 14.00 meters. In the women's long jump event, Ella Scally finished in 10th place with 5.63 meters.
- On the field for the men, Reilly Worthington finished in eighth place in the shot put event with 14.78 meters.
- For the men, Leo Bouldin finished in fifth place in the 400-meter prelims with a personal-best time of 47.62 seconds. Joey Valeski also ran in the 400-meter prelims, and he finished in eighth place with a personal best time of 48.29 seconds. Valeski and Bouldin both qualified for the 400-meter finals tomorrow. Micah Schuster was the third RedHawk to finish inside the top 10 in the 400-meter prelims, coming in ninth place with a time of 48.75 seconds. Julian Wagner finished in eighth place in the men's 100-meter prelims with a time of 10.74 seconds and qualified for the finals on Saturday. Jayson Harrison also ran in the 100-meter prelims, and he finished in ninth place with a time of 10.90 seconds.
- For the men, Sanchez Ropero finished in second place in the 3000m steeplechase with a personal best time of 9:06.75. Johnny Sayle also ran in the 3000m steeplechase, and he finished in fifth place with a time of 9:17.31. Anthony Vlatko finished in 10th place in the 800-meter prelims with a time of 1:54.55.
