Miami Takes Sixth at Calusa Cup

NAPLES, Fla. — Miami took sixth place this Tuesday, amidst numerous ranked teams at the three-round Calusa Cup at Calusa Pines Golf Club. The RedHawks' scores were spotlighted by Brett Podobinski, who took fourth as an individual.

Miami will host the Highland Meadows Intercollegiate in Sylvania, Ohio, this upcoming Monday and Tuesday April 15-16 before heading to Columbus for the Robert Kepler Invite at Ohio State during the weekend of Friday April 19.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Podobinski (70-69-74–213) finished three under par overall after shooting two above par during the final round. He totaled 12 birdies during the tournament and was just three strokes behind individual champion Scotty Kennon from Wake Forest, who set a Calusa Cup record with a score of minus six.
- Danny Fisher (75-72-78–224) tied for 22nd individually after shooting six over par in round three and eight above par overall. He made four birdies during round three.
- Morgan Blythe (75-76-74–225) finished the tournament at nine above par. He shot two above par during the final round after making two birdies and 10 pars. Blythe tied for 26th individually.
- Michael Weber (76-79-76–231) was four above par in round three with three birdies. He was fifteen over par through three rounds.
- Matthew Mattioli (79-77-77–233) finished 17 above par overall and five above par in round three.
- The RedHawks' team score of 890, or 26 over par, put them six strokes behind fifth place #20 Georgia.
