Miami in Seventh After Round One at Calusa Cup

NAPLES, Fla. — Miami's golf team is in seventh place after round one of the University of Iowa's Calusa Cup. The RedHawks' performance was highlighted by Brett Podobinski, who is tied for sixth as an individual out of 42 competitors.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Podobinski shot a 70, or two below par, in round one. His score included four birdies and 12 pars.
- Danny Fisher finished the day three above par after making three birdies and 10 pars. Fisher is tied for 26th individually.
- Morgan Blythe also tied for 26th individually on the day. He made four birdies and 11 pars during the round.
- Michael Weber made three birdies during round one, finishing four above par with a score of 76 and tying for 30th overall.
- Matthew Mattioli also made three birdies on the day. He finished at 77, or five over par, to tie for 37th.
- The RedHawks' team score for round one was eight strokes above par. They will look to move up the leaderboard in round two against some of the top teams in the country, including Georgia Tech (#15), reigning national champion Florida (#16), Georgia (#20), Purdue (#28), and Wake Forest (#32).
