AKRON, Ohio And LOUISVILLE, Ky.— The RedHawks competed in two different meets this weekend, the Northeast Ohio open in Akron and the Jim Vargo Invitational at Bellarmine University.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The RedHawks travel to Muncie, Ind. next week to compete in the We Fly Track and Field Challenge at Ball State University.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the women's 3000-meter steeplechase, Julia Rushing (10:46.99) and Jenna Sayle (10:59.21) finished in first and second place, respectively. Eve Traficanti (2:16.17) , Nora Zubillaga (2:16.23), and Avery Emerson (2:17.27) finished in third, fourth, and sixth place in the 800-meter run.
- On the field for the women, Ella Rigel finished in second place in the women's hammer throw event with 53.92 meters. In the women's shot put event, Santornya Ralliford finished in first place with 13.36 meters. Jessica Rhodes also competed in the shot put event and she finished in ninth place with 10.49 meters. In the long jump event, Chloe Rickson (5.55 meters) and Ella Scally (5.49 meters) finished in second and third, respectively. Mia Boule finished in first place in the pole vault event with 3.76 meters. In the high jump event, Elle Miller (1.60 meters), Abbi Deisch (1.55 meters), Ella Garvin and Madison Sisler (1.55 meters) finished in third, fourth, and tied for fifth, respectively. Elle Miller finished in fifth place in the triple jump event with 10.63 meters. In the women's 200-meter dash, Ella Scally (25.24 seconds) and Camryn Dunn (25.43 seconds) finished in second and fourth place, respectively.
- In the women's 100-meter hurdles, Kayla Walters finished in fourth place with a time of 14.82 seconds. The 4x100 relay team of Camryn Dunn, Abby Suszek, Ella Scally and Lucca Agate finished in first place in the relay with a time of 46.59 seconds. Abby Suszek (56.12 seconds) and Lucca Agate (57.39 seconds) finished in third and seventh place in the 400-meter dash. Camryn Dunn (11.89 seconds) and Ella Scally (12.22 seconds) finished in second and fifth place in the 100-meter dash. In the women's 400-meter hurdles, Erin Connors finished in second place with a time of 1:05.03. Ella Garvin (1:08.39) and Sydney Harmon (1:11.83) also ran in the 400-meter hurdles and finished in sixth and eighth place, respectively.
- For the men, Julian Wagner finished in first place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.80 seconds. Angelo Vassilakis (10.96 seconds) and Jayson Harrison (11.01 seconds) also ran in the 100-meter dash and finished in fourth and seventh place. Joshua Mikulka ran in the 110-meter hurdles, and he finished in sixth place with a time of 15.46 seconds. The 4x100 relay team of Julian Wagner, Eman Alfred, Leo Bouldin, and Jayson Harrison finished in second place with a time of 42.32 seconds. In the men's 400-meter dash, Joey Valeski (49.28 seconds) and Micah Schuster (49.72 seconds) finished in third and seventh place, respectively. Joshua Mikulka (57.16 seconds) and Jaxson Tober (58.65 seconds) finished in second and fifth place in the 400-meter hurdles. Julian Wagner (22.57 seconds) and Leo Bouldin (22.66 seconds) finished in fourth and sixth place in the 200-meter dash, respectively.
- On the field for the men, Logan Vowles finished in second place in the high jump event with 1.95 meters. Matthew Howard (52.19 meters) and CJ Johnson (44.58 meters) finished in third and sixth place in the javelin throw event, respectively. In the long jump event, Andrew Farrow (6.85 meters) and Sam Deep (6.53 meters) finished in third and sixth place, respectively. Farrow also finished in second place in the triple jump event with 13.59 meters.
- For the men, Johnny Sayle finished in first place in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:13.43. Nate Price finished in seventh place in the 1500-meter run with a time of 3:55.48. Vincenzo Matarazzo finished in seventh place in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.53.
The RedHawks travel to Muncie, Ind. next week to compete in the We Fly Track and Field Challenge at Ball State University.
