
RedHawks Leading After Day One of MAC Championship

WESTFIELD, Ind.— Miami Golf is tied for first place at the MAC Championship after one round of play with a score of 283. Danny Fisher leads the team after shooting four below par in the opening round.

The tournament resumes Saturday, April 27 with tee times starting at 9 a.m. Miami's first golfer will be Mattioli, who tees off at 9:50, followed by Blythe, Podobinski, Weber, and Fisher (each one starting 10 minutes after the previous RedHawk).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Fisher is in second place overall after shooting a 68 in round one. He shot three birdies on each nine and is one stroke back of the individual leader.
- Michael Weber shot a 70, or two below par, in round one after making five birdies. He is tied for sixth as an individual.
- Brett Podobinski finished round one even with par, making a 72. His score included four birdies and has him tied for 13th place overall.
- Morgan Blythe is in 17th individually and shot a 73, or one above par, overall. He made three birdies, all of which came on the back nine.
- Matthew Mattioli made two birdies to finish with a 76, or four over par. He is tied for 33rd as an individual.
- The RedHawks' team score is 283, which ties them for first with Ball State at five below par. Miami has a five-stroke lead on third place teams Northern Illinois and Kent State.
