HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hitting second for Miami in the first inning, Zach MacDonald opened up the offense with a single and advanced on a groundout. Ryland Zaborowski then reached first base with a single, and MacDonald came across home plate on the play.
- Evan Appelwick went on to hit a single that sent Zaborowski to third base. This set up Ryan Novak to produce Miami's fourth single of the inning. That hit scored Zaborowski to put Miami up 2-0 midway through one.
- MacDonald hit his 15th dinger of the season and his fourth of the weekend during the second inning to bring Miami's lead to three.
- Toledo got on the board in the third when a sacrifice fly scored Luke Walton. Walton had previously reached on an error and advanced twice on a single and an HBP.
- With two outs in the fourth inning, Dillon Baker singled through to left and MacDonald was intentionally walked. Ty Batusich then singled on an 0-1 count to advance both runners. An error occurred on the play for Toledo that allowed Baker to come in for Miami's fourth run of the day.
- Ryan Novak doubled with one out in the fifth and advanced to third on a groundout. A fielding error on the next at bat scored Novak and allowed Blake Buzzeo to reach first base.
- Tyler Gordon then walked. Baker was hit by a pitch which juiced the bases for Miami. MacDonald followed this up by hitting a single to drive in both Gordon and Buzzeo. This scoring outburst brought the score to 7-1.
- The Rockets took a BB and then singled in the sixth. They then took an HBP and scored one on a double play to cut Miami's lead to five runs at 7-2.
- Zaborowski led off in the eighth for the RedHawks with a home run to right center.
- With two outs in the eighth, David Novak walked to reach first base. Buzzeo proceeded to hit the third homer of the day for Miami. This rounded out a 10-2 final score.
