Kobayashi Named National Player of Week, MAC Player of Week

LOUISVILLE– On Tuesday afternoon, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) named Miami outfielder Kate Kobayashi its National Player of the Week. Kobayashi also earned Player of the Week honors from the Mid-American Conference.
Kobayashi was electric last weekend against MAC opponent University of Akon. She hit four homers in a three-game series and led the RedHawks. She also led Miami in batting average (.667), hits (6), RBI (10), slugging percentage (2.111) and on base percentage (.636) in the series. In the final game of the series, she hit two homers and went 3-for-4 at the plate with four RBI. She also drove in four runs in the RedHawks' previous game.
