Carbondale, Ill. – The Miami RedHawks men's swim and dive team has maintained first place in the MAC Championship for the third day in a row, finishing today with 497 points.
How It Happened:
- The day kicked off with a first place win from Henju Duvenhage in the 100 butterfly (46.37), setting a pool record and qualifying for the NCAA B cuts. Gabriel Perseguin finished behind him in fourth place with a time of 47.48.
- Following that, Miami finished first again in the 400 IM with Allen Cotton claiming the top spot with a time of 3:48.46, qualifying for an NCAA B cut. Yonatan Rosin finished seventh (3:57.17).
- In the 200 freestyle, Bryce Menchhofer finished second overall with a time of 1:36.64, alongside Uros Djokovic in third (1:36.97).
- Ian Wihebrink claimed fifth next in the 100 breaststroke with a finals time of 54.14.
- The RedHawks finished strong in the 100 backstroke, with Duvenhage claiming first again (46.17) setting another pool record and qualifying for an NCAA B cut. Behind him was Owen Blazer in second (47.20) qualifying for an NCAA B cut, and Mason Miller in fourth (47.66).
- The evening concluded with the 200-freestyle relay, which had the Miami A team in fourth, with Ian Kmiliauskis, Miller, Cotton and Duvenhage in fourth (1:19.64).

The RedHawks will continue with the final day of the MAC Championships on Saturday, March 9. Morning preliminary events will begin at 11:30 a.m., while final events will start at 7 p.m.
