Lenz Named Assistant Swim Coach

OXFORD, Ohio – Miami University head swimming and diving coach Samantha Pitter has announced Adam Lenz will be joining the RedHawks as an assistant coach.
 
"We are thrilled to welcome Adam to our staff. His recruiting experience, passion for the sport and commitment to student-athlete development will make an immediate impact on our program," said Pitter. "His energy and dedication will be felt both in and out of the pool."
 
Lenz most recently spent time as an Assistant Coach and Assistant Aquatics Director at Oberlin College and Conservatory Swimming and Diving. In these roles, he drafted team workouts, assisted with recruiting, worked with social media and helped set up the facility and prepare for competition.
 
Prior to that, he worked with the University of South Dakota Swimming & Diving as a graduate assistant coach from 2022 to 2024. At USD, Lenz created training programs for athletes, helped with recruiting, assisted with logistics and scouting and also operated social media pages.
 
He worked in the John Carroll University Sports Information Department from 2021 to 2022, assisting with both office work (website management, article writing, photo organization, graphic design) and event work (broadcast crew, photography, social media and statistics).
 
Lenz also spent time with Chagrin Valley Country Club in 2021 as an Assistant Swim Coach. In this role, he worked on technique with athletes across all skill and developmental levels and served as the Head Lifeguard for the 2021 season. Additionally, he has experience as a camp swim coach/counselor at Stanford swim camps (2022 and 2025) and as a volunteer coach with Cleveland Elite Aquatics (Fall 2019).
 
Lenz swam for John Carroll University during his time in college. His accomplishments include being a six-time NCAA Division III All-American, two-time NCAA Division III Honorable Mention All-American, two-time CSCAA Division III Scholar All-American, four-time OAC Team Champion and 13 time OAC Champion.
 
Lenz graduated from John Carroll University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. He most recently earned a Masters degree in Sport Management from the University of South Dakota (2024).
