OXFORD, Ohio — The Miami University men's basketball team fell 72-59 to Ohio Friday night. Anderson Mirambeaux led four RedHawks (15-16, 9-9) in double figures with 13 points. Aidan Hadaway and Shereef Mitchell each totaled 20 points for the Bobcats (19-12, 13-5).

HOW IT HAPPENED:

A pair of early three-point jump shots from Mekhi Cooper and Mirambeaux gave Miami an 8-5 lead. Back-to-back offensive rebounds from Jaquel morris led to a Darweshi Hunter jump shot to give the RedHawks a 12-5 advantage with 13:29 left in the first half.
Ohio closed within two points at 14-12 before Miami responded with a 10-0 run to make it 24-12. The Bobcats did not give in, answering with a run of their own to trail 27-26 heading into halftime. Cooper went 4-4 from the field to lead all RedHawks with 10 points in the first half of play.
The Bobcats opened the second half by claiming their first lead of the game at 30-27. Eian Elmer followed this up by knocking down a shot from behind the three-point line to even the score at 30 apiece. Later on, Elmer put in his third three of the game, and Bultman added a three of his own to keep Miami within four at 42-38 with 14:20 remaining in the game.
The Bobcats continued to find their rhythm, taking an 18-point lead before Mirambeaux put in a pair of layups to make it 56-42. Elmer hit a three, and Evan Ipsaro added a layup in the final minute of play to round off the scoring for the home team, but the Bobcats went on to seal a 72-59 win.
