RedHawks Compete in Cincinnati and California

CINCINNATI, Ohio/STANFORD, Calif./Newark, Calif.— Members of the Miami University track and field team competed this weekend at three different events, including a meet in nearby Cincinnati and a pair of competitions on the West Coast.

The RedHawks are back in action next weekend (April 5-6) for the Knoxville Relays in Knoxville, Tenn.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Annie Christie earned a top-15 finish for the Red and White at the Stanford Invitational in California, posting a mark of 16.30.89 in the 5K to come in 15th place.
- Also in the Bay Area, Max Polak produced a sixth-place time of 29:49.77 in the 10K to pace the RedHawks at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic Saturday evening.
- Miami throwers had an impressive weekend at the University of Cincinnati's Oliver Nikoloff Invitational. Santornya Ralliford took third in the discus (48.71m) out of 22 women, while Matthew Howard came in fourth in javelin on the men's side (54.54m). Adam Smith came in fourth in discus (49.5m) and 11th in shot put (13.66m).
- On the track, Nora Zubillaga and Vincenzo Matarazzo both posted second-place finishes in their races at UC. Zubillaga ran the 800m in 2:14.57, while Matarazzo put up a time of 1:52.54 in his 800m. Jack Fleming came in seventh in the 800m (1:56.37). Erin Connors came in third in the 400m hurdles (1:03.48), with Ella Garvin taking ninth in the same event (1:09.32). Nate Price took third in the 5,000m with a time of 14:50.45. Leo Bouldin posted an eighth-place time in the 200m, finishing with a mark of 21.92.
- Miami's jumpers also picked up multiple top-five finishes at the Nikoloff Invitational, led by Ella Scally's second-place showing in the long jump (6.16m). Garvin tied for fifth place in the high jump at 1.60m.
