RedHawks Excel at Blizzard Buster

OXFORD, Ohio— The Miami University track and field program opened its outdoor season with a home meet today and the RedHawks produced a variety of top-10 finishers in the annual Blizzard Buster.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The RedHawks continue their outdoor season in two weeks when they will travel to Knoxville, Tenn. for the Knoxville Relays April 5th and 6th.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the women's 1500-meter, Annie Christie (4:36.47), Julia Rushing (4:37.13), and Jenna Sayle (4:37.63) finished in third, fourth, and fifth place, respectively. Eve Traficanti (4:43.77) and Nora Zubillaga (4:45.01) also ran in the 1500-meter and they finished in eighth and 10th place, respectively.
- On the field for the women, Kayla Walters finished in fourth place in the women's javelin event with 29.31 meters. Mia Boule finished in first place in the women's pole vault with 3.85 meters. Emily Eterovich (3.65 meters) and Grace Hicks (3.50 meters) also competed in the pole vault event, and they finished in third and fourth, respectively. Addison Hoover (43.73 meters) and Sharron Kagan (42.29 meters) finished in ninth and 10th place in the women's hammer throw. Santornya Ralliford finished in first place in the women's discus event with 47.74 meters. Jessica Rhodes took fourth place in the discus event with 41.48 meters. In the women's long jump event, Ella Scally (5.76 meters), Chloe Rickson (5.42 meters), and Elle Miller (5.04 meters) finished in first, second, and fourth place, respectively. In the women's high jump event, Abbi Deisch (1.60 meters) and Miller (1.55 meters) finished in first and fourth place, while Ella Garvin (1.45 meters) and Amanda Kaufman (1.35 meters) finished in sixth and eighth place. Miller finished in fifth place in the triple jump event with 9.99 meters. In the women's shot put event, Ralliford finished in fourth place with 13.09 meters. Sara Cupp also competed in the women's shot put event and she finished 10th with 11.48 meters.
- In the women's 4x100 relay, the team of Scally, Abby Suszek, Camryn Dunn, and Lucca Agate finished in first place with a time of 46.25 seconds. Walters finished in first place in the women's 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.99 seconds. In the women's 100-meter dash, the RedHawk women had five runners place in the top 10, with Agate (12.30), Dunn (12.36) and Suszek (12.49) claiming first, second, and fourth, respectively. Scally (12.86) and Rickson (12.92) also ran in the 100-meter dash, and they finished in ninth and 10th place. In the women's 400-meter hurdles, Garvin (1:09.66) and Sydney Harmon (1:12.49) finished in fifth and sixth place, respectively. In the women's 200-meter run, Agate (25.05), Suszek (25.24), and Rickson (26.30) swept first, second and third place. Rachel Smith (26.68), Scally (26.76), and Katelyn Pratt (27.01) also ran in the 200-meter, and they finished in seventh, eighth, and ninth place, respectively.
- For the men, the 4x100 relay team of Jaxson Tober, Joey Valeski, Micah Schuster, and JD Leverette finished in first place with a time of 43.07 seconds. Eman Alfred (15.06) and Josh Mikulka (16.15) finished in second and fourth place in the 110m hurdles. In the men's 100-meter, the RedHawks had eight of the top nine finishers. Julian Wagner (10.89), Jayson Harrison (11.18), Valeski (11.23), Angelo Vassilakis (11.30), Remy Schulz (11.37), Leverette (11.47), Mitchell Wiemuth (11.67) finished in first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and ninth. In the men's 400-meter hurdles, Alfred (58.63), Tober (58.90) and Mikulka (59.32) finished in fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively. In the men's 200-meter, Valeski finished in first place with a time of 22.24 seconds. Schuster (22.71), Schulz (23.02), and Leverette (23.32) also ran in the 200-meter and they finished in fourth, seventh, and ninth, respectively.
- On the field for the men, Logan Vowles finished in first place in the high jump event with 2.00 meters. Andrew Farrow finished in first place in the long jump event with 6.60 meters. Sammy Deep also competed in the long jump event, and he finished fourth with 6.35 meters. Farrow also finished in first place in the men's triple jump with 14.17 meters. Adam Smith took first place in the discus with a personal-best mark of 50.1m. Gabe Asbury (44.35 meters) and Owen Billeter (37.17 meters) finished in seventh and ninth place in the men's hammer event, respectively. Quinn Kroneker finished in second place in the men's pole vault event with 4.35 meters. Ben Riegel finished in third place in the men's hammer event with 49.95 meters as an unattached thrower. In the men's javelin event, Matthew Howard (55.43 meters) and CJ Johnson Jr. (48.56 meters) finished in first and fourth place, respectively. Reilly Worthington (14.94 meters) and Smith (13.44 meters) finished in fifth and eighth place in the men's shot put event.
- For the men, the RedHawks had the top three finishers in the 800-meter: Nate Price (1:59.65), Elliot Rodstrom (1:59.86), and Victor Orsinelli (1:59.99). Johnny Sayle (3:55.87) and Nate Price (3:57.13) finished in eighth and 10th place in the men's 1500 meter, respectively. Mhalicki Bronson also ran in the 1500 but he ran unattached and finished in fifth place with a time of 3:54.50.
