Four RedHawks Earn All-MAC Spots

CLEVELAND, Ohio – On Tuesday afternoon the Mid-American Conference released their 2024 All-MAC teams and Specialty Award winners. From the Miami University field hockey team, Berta Mata, Henriette Schlueter and Claudia Negrete Garcia were named to All-MAC First Team and Carlie Servis was named to All-MAC Second-Team. Mata also won Defensive Player of the Year and Schlueter claimed Freshman of the Year.

Mata has been a key asset on the Miami defense all season. The senior back has started in every match this season and is fifth on the team in minutes with 863. Despite being a core member of the defense, she also has two goals, 16 shots, and 14 points on the season. She is second on the team in assists with 10.

Negrete Garcia has been a leader on the RedHawk offense this season, leading the team this season in goals (11), points (23), shots (72), and game-winning goals (4). The graduate student midfielder has started every game, playing a total 865 minutes.

Schlueter has led MAC freshmen consistently this season in offense stats including goals (7) and assists (5). The freshman forward is second on the RedHawks in goals and in game-winning goals (3). On the season she has played in every game, starting all but one, and playing a total 738 minutes.

Servis has been a prominent feature at midfield this season for the 'Hawks. The senior has racked up 14 assists (leading the team) 18 points, two goals, and one game-winning goal. She's played a total 727 minutes, playing in all but one game and starting 14.
