ON TAP: The Miami University women's basketball team looks for its first 4-1 start since the 2018-19 season, with a Friday, Nov. 22 contest versus Hiram College. Opening tip is scheduled for 11 a.m. and will be carried live on ESPN+.
DOUBLE TROUBLE: Amber Tretter recorded 10 double-doubles last season as a true freshman with the RedHawks. In fact, her 222 rebounds was the most in a single-season by a freshman in program history. This season she is nearly averaging a double-double in points (13.0) and rebounds (7.8), despite only playing 25.0 minutes per contest. She is also 18-of-27 (66.7%) from the floor and 4-of-7 (57.1%) from behind the arc.
TAKING CARE OF THE BALL: Last season Miami averaged 11.6 assists compared to 18.9 turnovers and had more assists than turnovers just three times in 29 contests. Through three games in 2024-25, Miami has 64 assists and 73 turnovers.
ABOUT HIRAM: Hiram College is 2-2 on the year and competes in the North Coast Athletic Conference. Brooke Hickman is tops on the team, averaging 20.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest. The senior has three double-doubles this season and is shooting 66.1% from the floor.
SERIES WITH APU: This will be the first meeting between the two schools.
AUSTIN PEAY RECAP: Miami scored the game's final six points in a 59-52 victory over Austin Peay State University on Sunday afternoon.

Tamar Singer (11). Tretter added a game-high nine rebounds and Singer chipped in five assists.
OFFENSIVE EXPLOSION: Miami is averaging 71.0 points this season after averaging 53.9 points last year. Helping with the offensive improvement have been three point shooting, assists and rebounds. This season Miami is connecting on 8.3 three's per game (4.9 in 2023-24) and are outrebounding their opponents by 3.8 boards/game (-3.8 in 2023-24). Miami is also averaging 16.0 assists per game, compared to 11.6 last season. The single-season highest scoring average in program history is 77.5, set during the 1981-82 campaign.
THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN: Coach Box added seven new faces to the 2024-25 season and their impact was felt immediately. Four of Miami's top five scorers are newcomers this season and five of the top six rebounders were on a different team a year ago. Freshman

Maya Chandler, not only is she third on the team, averaging 8.5 points/game, she also leads the MAC in assist to turnover ratio (15/5).Â
1000 POINT CLUB: Maya Chandler has scored 1,060 career points between three different programs. She has scored 34 points with the RedHawks, had 149 points in one season at SMU and in three years at Loyola-Chicago she scored 877 points and was named the Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Year in 2020-21. She has played in 121 games throughout her career, making 101 starts.
HANGING AROUND: Senior
Katey Richason, along with
Clare Chambers, are the lone remaining players prior to Coach Box's arrival. Richason has made the most of the change in leadership. Last season the Zionsville, Ind. native recorded career-bests in points (8.7), rebounds (5.7) and free throws made (34).
REDHAWKS PICKED EIGHTH IN PRESEASON POLL: Miami was picked eighth in the preseason coaches poll. Ball State finished atop the preseason rankings with 120 points and were followed by Kent State (104), Buffalo (98), Bowling Green (96), Toledo (82), Northern Illinois (64), Ohio (64), Miami (44), Akron (43), Western Michigan (34), Eastern Michigan (23) and Central Michigan (20).
