
RedHawks Claim Victory in Hawaii

KAPOLEI, Hawaii — The Miami University golf team used a stellar third round to claim victory in this week's 15-team Kapolei Invitational. The RedHawks were five-under in Thursday's action to finish the tournament with a score of seven below par (857) and give head coach JD Fletcher his first tournament win at the helm of the program. Miami pulled away to defeat runner-up San Diego (+6) by 13 strokes. Morgan Blythe led the RedHawks with a score of 213, finishing tied for second on the player leaderboard.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Blythe (71-72-70=213) finished the tournament with an overall score of three below par, moving up seven places on the final day.
- Brett Podobinski (70-71-76=217) and Cameron Pero (72-77-68 =217) also produced top-10 finishes, ending their time in Hawaii tied for ninth place.
- Matthew Mattioli (74-71-73=218) moved up four places to finish 13th with a score of two above par.
- Michael Weber (81-73-72=226) shot his best round of the event Thursday to move up 18 places and come in 52nd place.
- Nathan Vonderhaar (77-76-79=232) competed as an individual with a final score of 16 above par.
