RedHawks in Sixth after Day One in Hawaii

KAPOLEI, Hawaii— The Miami University golf team is tied for sixth out of 15 programs after round one of the Kapolei Invitational with a score of one under par (287) as a team. Brett Podobinski leads the RedHawks with a score of two under par (70). Miami is just five shots back of first-place Texas State.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
MIAMI INDIVIDUALS:
This week, Miami has also had several golfers competing in the Bill Crabtree Invitational in Owensboro, Ky. as individuals.
UP NEXT IN HAWAII:
Round two of the Kapolei Invitational commences Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 3 p.m. ET.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Podobinski (70) is tied for eighth overall. His round included four birdies.
- Morgan Blythe (71) shot one below par, ending the day tied for 13th.
- Cameron Pero (72) shot three birdies, tying for 24th.
- Matthew Mattioli (74) is tied for 42nd, with a score of two above par.
- Nathan Vonderhaar (77) competed as an individual, ending the day tied for 65th.
- Michael Weber (81) shot two birdies and is tied for 83rd.
MIAMI INDIVIDUALS:
This week, Miami has also had several golfers competing in the Bill Crabtree Invitational in Owensboro, Ky. as individuals.
- Sam West (71-70=141), Liam Nelson (70-74=144) and Sam Mortell (79-69=148) all competed in Kentucky. West tied for sixth overall.
