RedHawks Finish on Podium at Dayton Flyer Invitational

KETTERING, Ohio— The Miami University golf team finished in third place out of 12 teams at the Dayton Flyer Invitational. The RedHawks ended with a score of 873, four strokes shy of Marquette University and three ahead of Dayton. Morgan Blythe led the team and tied for eighth with a score of 216, or three above par.

The RedHawks will compete October 28-29 as individuals in the Bill Crabtree Invitational in Owensboro, Ky. Miami's team will travel to the Kapolei Invitational in Hawaii Oct. 29-31.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Blythe (71-72-73=216) tied for eighth out of 79 golfers.
- Michael Weber (75-69-73=217) came in 13th overall with a score of 217, or four above par. He shot nine birdies throughout the three rounds.
- Brett Podobinski (70-77-73=220) shot an eagle on the sixth hole of the third round, ending with a score of 220, or seven above par. He moved up five places from yesterday, tying for 18th.
- Matthew Mattioli (75-76-72=223) moved up 13 places, ending with a score of 223, or ten above par.
- Nathan Vonderhaar (77-74-73=224) competed as an individual, moving up eight places from the previous round. He shot an eagle on the sixth hole in the third round.
- Cameron Pero (74-75-76=225) tied for 36th place with a score of 225, or 12 above par.
- Sam Mortell (73-77-75=225) competed as an individual, totaling eight birdies throughout the tournament.
- Tyler Anderson (79-80-80=239) competed as an individual, placing 71st. He shot three birdies in the second round of the tournament.
