EVANSTON, Ill. — The Miami University swimming and diving team traveled to Northwestern University on Saturday, where both the women's and men's teams fell to the Wildcats by identical scores, 203-97.
How it Happened:
- The meet kicked off with the women's 200-yard medley relay where the women's A relay finished second. Madeline Padavic, Natalie Gilson, Erin Szczupakiewicz and Kaylin Herbet turned in a combined total of 1:39.95.
- The men's 200-yard medley relay followed, where the men's A relay team finished second. Jensen Nelson, Benjamin Eichberg, Henju Duvenhage and Tegan Barrier turned in a combined time of 1:27.43.
- Casey Stephens finished second in the women's 600 yard freestyle, recording a time of 6:01.44. Lauren Gualtieri finished fourth with a time of 6:08.75.
- In the men's 600-yard freestyle. Nick Barrows came away with fourth place, earning a time of 5:36.52. Tommy Frye came fifth, recording a time of 5:39.28.
- In the women's 200 yard freestyle, Szczupakiewicz finished fifth with a time of 1:52.49.
- The men's 200 yard freestyle came next, where Bryce Menchhofer took second and clocked in at a time of 1:38.13. Ian Kmiliauskis finished fourth with a time of 1:41.20. Maguire Sheppard followed, finishing fifth with a time of 1:42.85.
- Padavic earned a first-place finish in the women's 100-yard backstroke, recording a time of 53.03. Ella Ziegert came in second, finishing with a time of 55.05.
- Duvenhage placed second in the men's 100-yard backstroke with a time of 47.46. Jensen Nelson finished third, earning a time of 49.05.
- The women's 100-yard breaststroke followed, where Emma Schueler posted a second-place time of 1:04.21. Zofia Janaszek-Seydlitz was right behind her in third place, with a time of 1:04.58. Caitlin Horn earned a fifth-place finish recording a time of 1:06.05
- Eichberg finished second in the men's 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 54.88. Adrian Dulay came in fourth, earning a time of 55.30.
- Mady Bachmeier came in third in the women's 200-yard butterfly, achieving a time of 2:06.48. Ashley Sego finished fifth, clocked in at 2:06.94.
- The men's 200-yard butterfly came next, where Allen Cotton came away with a first-place finish, recording a time of 1:47.81. Owen Hoban took second with a time of 1:49.37. Scott Spear finished fourth, earning a time of 1:51.60
- In the women's 50-yard freestyle, Herbet finished third, turning in a time of 23.07. Natalie Gilson placed fourth, finishing in 23.26.
- Barrier came in first for the men's 50-yard freestyle, clocking a time of 20.41. Jack Herczeg finished fifth, achieving a time of 20.98.
- The women's 100-yard freestyle came next, where Padavic finished third with a time of 50.43. Herbet came in fourth, recording a time of 50.57.
- In the men's 100-yard freestyle, Kmiliauskis finished second, securing a time of 44.79. Barrier followed in third, turning in a time of 45.25. Herczeg finished fourth with a time of 45.56.
- Ziegert finished first in the women's 200-yard backstroke, clocking a time of 1:58.00. Jenna Halliday earned a fifth-place finish, achieving a time of 2:02.14
- Nelson came in third in the men's 200-yard backstroke at 1:47.22. Zach Bann followed in fourth with a time of 1:48.52. Drew Watson came next, earning a fifth-place time of 1:51.43.
- The women's 200-yard breaststroke followed, where Emma Schueler finished second, turning in a time of 2:19.83. Janaszek-Seydlitz was next in third place, recording a time of 2:20.89. Kenadie Glasgow placed fourth with a time of 2:21.12.
- The men's 200-yard breast came next, where Dulay placed third with a time of 2:01.68. Eichberg finished fourth, earning a time of 2:03.23.
- Stephens came in third in the women's 400-yard freestyle, turning in a time of 3:59.18. Gualtieri finished fourth at 4:02.66.
- Menchhofer finished third in the men's 400-yard freestyle, recording a time of 3:36.06. Frye was next in fourth with a time of 3:41.54, followed by Sheppard, who earned a time of 3:43.25.
- Szczupakiewicz turned in a third-place finish in the women's 100 yard butterfly, clocking a time of 55.65.
- The men's 100-yard fly was next, where Allen Cotton finished fourth, achieving a time of 49.46. Hoban followed in fifth place with a time of 49.58.
- Herbet came in third in the women's 300-yard IM, recording a time of 3:12.02.
- Hoban followed suit, finishing third in the men's 300-yard IM, with a time of 2:55.93. Cotton placed fourth, earning a time of 2:56.83.
- In the women's 400-yard freestyle relay, the Miami A relay team finished third. Gilson, Waechter, Halliday and Padavic turned in a collective time of 3:25.54.
- Swimming events concluded with the men's 400-yard freestyle relay, where the Miami A relay group finished second. Kmiliauskis, Duvenhage, Herczeg and Barrier turned in a combined total of 2:57.82.
- For diving events, Mia Meinhardt took first place in the women's 1-meter dive with a score of 264.95. Sydney Rice came in fourth with a score of 251.55.
- Rice placed third in the women's 3-meter dive with a score of 271.60.
- Jackson Miller took sixth place in the men's 1-meter dive with a score of 259.80.
- Miller came in sixth in the men's 3-meter dive with a score of 253.15.
