OXFORD, Ohio — The Miami University swimming and diving team kicked off the four-day Miami University Invitational on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center against seven other teams. The invitational features four co-ed teams and three women's-only teams.
After day one, the women's team is in first place with 67 points. Other placements include Indiana State University in second (60), Marshall University in third (59), the University of Indianapolis in fourth (34), with Valparaiso University, Ouachita Baptist University and Illinois State University tied for fifth (26). The men's team is in second place with 64 points. Other placements include the University of Indianapolis in first (72), Ouachita Baptist University in third (52) and Valparaiso University in fourth (48).

UP NEXT: The Miami swimming and diving teams will be back tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 20. Preliminaries begin at 9:30 a.m., and finals begin at 5:30 p.m.

How it Happened:
- Day one kicked off with the women's 800-yard freestyle relay where the women's A team tied for first. Chrisna Bezuidenhout, Julia Waechter, Gracie Gregory and Kaylin Herbet turned in a combined time of 7:20.11.
- Day one concluded with the men's 800-yard freestyle relay where the men's A team finished second. Elijah Rolfsen, Ian Rodrigues-Kmiliauskis, Bryce Menchhofer and Owen Hoban finished with a combined time of 6:33.86.
