Swim and Dive Delivers Another Big Day at the Miami Invitational

OXFORD, Ohio — The Miami University swimming and diving team continued strong in day two of the Miami University Invitational on Thursday, Nov. 20, at Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center. After day two, the women's team is tied for first place with 524 points. Other placements include the University of Notre Dame who is tied for first (524), Indiana State University in third (372), Marshall University in fourth (334), the University of Indianapolis in fifth (274), Illinois State University in sixth (191), Valparaiso University in seventh (50) and Ouachita Baptist University in eighth (48). The men's team is in third place with 537.5 points. Other placements include the University of Indianapolis in first (576), the University of Notre Dame in second (545.5), Ouachita Baptist University in fourth (293) and Valparaiso University in fifth (166).

- Day two kicked off with the women's 200-yard freestyle relay where the women's A team finished first. Kaylin Herbet, Natalie Gilson, Julia Waechter and Jenna Halliday turned in a combined time of 1:31.33.
- The men's 200-yard freestyle relay followed where the men's A team finished fourth. Ian Rodrigues-Kmiliauskis, Duncan Salmen, Owen Fowler and Tegan Barrier posted a combined time of 1:19.51.
- Up next was the women's 500-yard freestyle where Gracie Gregory finished seventh, earning a time of 4:55.20.
- Elijah Rolfsen was fourth in the men's 500-yard freestyle, clocking a time of 4:24.30.
- Herbert was first in the women's 200 IM, earning a time of 2:00.34.
- The men's 200 IM followed where Owen Hoban finished seventh, turning in a time of 1:47.37.
- After that was the women's 50-yard freestyle where Gilson finished third with a time of 22.74. Waechter was fifth clocking a time of 23.19.
- The men's 50-yard freestyle was next where Barrier tied for third, earning a time of 19.96.
- The women's 400-yard medley relay was next where the women's A team finished third. Ella Ziegert, Gilson, Herbert and Waechter turned in a combined time of 3:40.78.
- Swimming events concluded with the men's 400-yard medley relay where the men's A team finished fourth. Jensen Nelson, Ian Wihebrink, Salmen and Rodrigues-Kmiliauskis posted a combined time of 3:12.95.
- For diving events, Sydney Rice finished first in the 3M dive with a score of 289.30. Mia Meinhardt was second, turning in a score of 288.75. Nora Kowalski finished third posting a score of 255.15.
- Tuck Gregory was first in the 1M dive, earning a score of 330.15. Noam Kulbak was second with a score of 308.60. Paul Hong finished third posting a score of 304.45
