Miami Ties Akron to Stay Unbeaten at Home

OXFORD, Ohio- The Miami soccer team drew 0-0 at Bobby Kramig Field against Akron on Thursday evening to extend its home unbeaten streak to eight matches. The RedHawks move to 5-3-5 (1-2-3 in MAC) and Akron is now 5-5-3 (0-5-1 in MAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Akron had a chance in the 23rd minute to take the lead when Ella Hadley took a shot from just outside the 18-yard box but Dominique Popa made a diving leap to parry it out for a corner.Â
- Miami earned a corner in the 84th minute which led to Jamie Hlebec getting on the end of the cross, but it was saved by Sara Bower.Â
NOTES
- Popa had a three-save clean sheet.Â
- Ruby Casey led the RedHawks with three shots.Â
- Miami had 11 shots to Akron's seven.Â
- The RedHawks' last loss at home came more than a year ago (Oct. 5, 2023).

Miami is back in action Sunday, Oct. 13 at Toledo. The match begins at 1 p.m at Paul Hotmer Field.
