Miami Explodes Offensively to Take Down Buffalo, 86-65

BUFFALO, N.Y.— Anderson Mirambeaux poured in a season-high 21 points off the bench and four assists as the Miami University men's basketball team led nearly the entire game in an 86-65 win over Buffalo Tuesday night. Bryce Bultman added 14 points for the RedHawks (7-8, 1-2 MAC), while Ryan Mabrey (12) and Eian Elmer (10) scored in double figures. Shawn Fulcher led the Bulls (2-13, 1-2 MAC) with 20 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Miami got off to a 7-3 start with Elmer putting in a layup, Darweshi Hunter getting to the free-throw line for three shots and Mirambeaux adding a layup. Although Buffalo responded by taking an 8-7 lead, Mabrey knocked down a jumper to remain ahead 9-8 with 14:37 left in the first half. The Red and White stretched their lead to 16-11 thanks to a hook shot from Reece Potter and a three from Mabrey.
- With under 10 minutes to play, Buffalo tied the match at 18-18. Mirambeaux scored six straight points off of a collection of layups to lead by three at 24-21. Mabrey found Potter for a dunk, and Elmer followed this up with a layup to remain ahead 28-26 with 4:43 to play. Numerous layups from Mirambeaux, Jaquel Morris and Potter gave Miami a 38-36 advantage entering the break.
- The RedHawks offense exploded coming out of the intermission, going 10-10 from the field in the opening six minutes of the second half. This start gave the RedHawks a 59-46 lead after outscoring Buffalo 21-10. Mirambeaux found Bultman on back-to-back plays from behind the three-point line to extend the lead to 67-48. The Bull scored five straight points to trail by 15 at 67-53.
- Bultman dished the ball to Morris for a dunk and proceeded to find Mabrey from downtown to make it 74-55 with 7:46 remaining. Three consecutive layups from Mabrey, Mirambeaux and Elmer matched Miami's largest lead of the game at 84-59. The Red and White closed the game with an 86-65 victory over the Bulls.
GAME NOTES:
- The Red and White outscored Buffalo 48-29 in the second half.
- Elmer recorded a career-high four steals.
- Miami shot over 60% from the field for the second time this season.
