RedHawks Go Down 3-1 to Maryland

COLLEGE PARK, Mary. – The Miami University field hockey team fell on the road on Friday night to the University of Maryland 3-1. This drops Miami to 3-2 on the season and brings Maryland to 5-1.

The RedHawks return to action when they face-off against American University on Sept. 10 at 2:30 p.m. in College Park, Md.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- With just over a minute remaining in the first quarter the Terrapins scored on a penalty corner, taking a 1-0 lead into the second quarter.
- About halfway through the second quarter Maryland scored again to double their lead 2-0.
- The Terrapins held their 2-0 lead over the RedHawks through the end of the first 30 minutes of play.
- On a penalty stroke in the third quarter Maryland added to their lead, making it 3-0.
- Just over three minutes into the final quarter Carlie Servis scored to cut the lead to 3-1.
- Despite the RedHawks goal, the Terrapins held their lead through the remainder of the game, taking the game 3-1.
