Appelwick Named Co-Player of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio-- Miami third baseman Evan Appelwick has been named the Mid-American Conference Co-Player of the Week, the conference announced today. Appelwick helped Miami to a 3-1 week, recording a .429 batting average, six hits, four runs and seven RBI. He had a hit and RBI in each game that Miami played, extending his hitting streak to eight games. In three of the RedHawks' four games last week, Appelwick also hit a home run. He is a redshirt freshman Exploratory Studies major in the College of Arts and Science from Madison, S.D.

Appelwick and the RedHawks return to action Friday, May 12 at Ball State to begin a three-game series. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. Friday in Muncie, Ind.
