OXFORD, Ohio-- The Miami University baseball team fell to the University of Akron by the score of 10-2 Sunday. The RedHawks drop to 18-32 (12-15 MAC), while the Zips improve to 18-29 (10-17 MAC).
The Zips got on the board in the second inning and never looked back. The RedHawks hit a pair of home runs in their effort, but ultimately fell to the Zips in the series finale.
HOW IT HAPPENED:

The visitors struck first, scoring seven in the top of the second, making it 7-0 Zips.

In the top of the sixth, the Zips tacked on three more, making the score 10-0.

In the bottom half of the inning, Dillon Baker and Evan Appelwick cranked back-to-back solo home runs out of the park to put the RedHawks on the board, making it 10-2 Zips.

Miami pitchers combined to strike out 11 hitters, marking the 31st time this season the RedHawks' staff has recorded double-digit strikeouts.
