MUNCIE, Ind.-- The Miami University baseball team fell to Ball State University by a score of 5-1 Saturday. The RedHawks drop to 19-33 (13-16 MAC) while the Cardinals improve to 31-18 (18-8 MAC).
Miami got on the board in the ninth inning but fell short and will look to take the series-deciding game Sunday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:

Ball State got on the board in the bottom of the third inning, scoring one run and making it 1-0 Cardinals.

In the bottom of the fifth, Ball State tacked on two more runs to stretch the lead to 3-0.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, the Cardinals added two more insurance runs, going on top 5-0.

In the top of the ninth, David Novak hit a solo home run to left field, scoring the RedHawks' only run and making the final score 5-1 in favor of BSU.

Kenten Egbert pitched seven innings, allowing only three hits and three runs with nine strikeouts.
