SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. — The RedHawk golf team has sole possession of fourth place after the first day of George Mason University's 18-team Ross Collegiate Classic. Miami's
Sam West led the squad, shooting three under par in round one and four under par in round two, his best scores of the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- West's two-round score of seven below par puts him in third place overall out of a field of 92 golfers. West's second round was highlighted by an eagle on hole five, a par five.
- Danny Fisher finished the day one above par after shooting two below par in the first round and three above in the second. His scores have him tied for 31st heading into the final round.
- Jack Ebner finished two above par through day one with scores of even and two above par. He is tied for 33rd individually.
- Brett Podobinski finished three above par and Michael Weber finished 10 above par.
- The RedHawks' team score for the first two rounds was just four strokes above par. Their score puts them eight strokes ahead of fifth place William & Mary heading into the final round.
