
Miami Takes Fifth at Ross Intercollegiate

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C.— The Miami University golf team finished in fifth place out of 18 programs at George Mason University's Ross Collegiate Classic with a three-round score of 870 (282–292–296). Sam West (69-68-75--212) led the RedHawks and finished in fifth place out of 92 golfers with a three-round score of four below par.

Miami will compete against Bowling Green and Northern Kentucky on home turf on March 26. The match will take place at Hueston Woods in Oxford.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- West's top-five finish was highlighted by 13 total birdies and an eagle in round two.
- Jack Ebner (72-74-74--220) and Danny Fisher (70-75-75–220) each finished four above par and tied for 25th individually. Ebner recorded three birdies during the final round and Fisher recorded two.
- Brett Podobinski (71-76-74--221) finished with a three-round score of five above par, tying for 27th overall. His final round was highlighted by four birdies.
- Michael Weber (79-75-73--227) had the lowest score of the RedHawks in the final round, shooting just one above par. He made par on 13 holes during the final round.
- Miami's team score for three rounds was six above par. This is the RedHawks' second-best team score for tournaments during the 2022-23 season.
