BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Miami University women's basketball team dropped an 88-59 decision against Bowling Green on Saturday afternoon.
Maddi Cluse led the RedHawks (8-15, 3-7 MAC) with 17 points and eight rebounds, while BGSU's (20-2, 9-1 MAC) Allison Day had a game-high 27 points.
How it Happened:
- Bowling Green opened the contest on a 9-3 run and despite seven points from Cluse in the first quarter, Miami trailed the Falcons 27-13 at the end of one.
- BGSU led 32-18 early in the second. A triple from Cluse and a turn-around jumper from Peyton Scott, cut Miami's deficit to just nine, four minutes into the second quarter. A pair of free throws from Wolf helped Miami claw to within 39-33, but a 6-2 run by BGSU to close out the quarter spotted the Falcons a 45-35 halftime advantage.
- After Miami opened the second half with a bucket, BG responded with back-to-back corner triples to once again lead by 14. In all, the Falcons outscored Miami 22-13 in the third quarter and went to the fourth with a 67-48 advantage.
Game Notes:
- Jessie Dai played 24 minutes, the second-most of her Miami career.
- Amani Freeman connected on a career-high five free throws.
- Sierra Morrow finished with 10 points, six rebounds and two blocks.
