RedHawks Host NIU Wednesday in Crucial Matchup

ON TAP: The Miami University women's basketball team returns home to face Northern Illinois in a crucial Mid-American Conference matchup on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m.

MIAMI'S BIG-3: The RedHawks have three of the top-12 scorers in the MAC, highlighted by Ivy Wolf (16.4, 6th), Peyton Scott (15.2, 9th) and Maddi Cluse (14.8, 12th). Combined, the trio scores 46 of Miami's 69 points per contest and Miami is 5-4 this season when the trio combines for at least 50 points in a game.

TOE THE LINE: No one gets to the free throw line more in the Mid-American Conference than the RedHawks. Through 27 games, Miami has attempted 514 (19.0/game) free throws this season. Not only do the RedHawks get to the line ... they make them count. As a team, Miami is third in the conference in free throw percentage (76.5%). Individually, Ivy Wolf ranks first in the MAC (90.8%) and Peyton Scott is fifth (84.5%).

ABOUT NIU: NIU is 14-11 overall and 6-8 in conference play. The Huskies rank fifth in the MAC, scoring 70.8 points per contest and are led by Chelby Koker (16.3) and A'jah Davis (15.7). Davis ranks first in the MAC, averaging 12.6 rebounds per game.

SERIES WITH THE HUSKIES: This will be the 46th meeting between the two programs, with NIU holding a slight 23-22 advantage in the all-time series. Miami has won the last two meetings.

ROUND TWO WITH NIU: These same two teams played back on Jan. 18, with Miami coming away with a 74-69 victory in DeKalb. Ivy Wolf had a game-high 23 points and was joined by Peyton Scott (18) and Maddi Cluse (15) in double figures. Cluse and Scott combined for 19 rebounds and Wolf had a team-high four assists.

NOW "BOARD"ING: The RedHawks rank just ninth in the MAC in rebounding (35.5 boards/game) but, have out-rebounded nine of their last 13 opponents, including +9 on the boards in the win at NIU and +14 last Saturday in the win at Buffalo.

HOME SWEET HOME: Miami is 8-6 at home this season and 2-11 away from Millett Hall.

HUNGRY LIKE A WOLF: After an outstanding freshman campaign, where she averaged 12.6 points per contest,  sophomore Ivy Wolf has taken the next step in her career. Wolf is sixth in the MAC in scoring (16.4) and sixth in assists (3.7). She has scored at least 20 points in eight games this year.

GETTING A CLUE: After an up and down freshman season, where Maddi Cluse averaged 6.5 points per contest, the second-year RedHawk seems to have things figured out in 2022-23. Cluse currently ranks 12th in the MAC with a 14.8 scoring average. She is also fifth in rebounding (7.7). The sophomore has eight double-doubles this season (and one triple-double) after recording just two her freshman campaign. Miami is 6-2 this season when Cluse records a double-double.

MAGICAL MILESTONES: The RedHawks have had several individual moments during the 2022-23 season:
