MILAN, Italy—Returning to the ice for its second international competition of the season, the Miami University senior synchronized skating team sits in sixth place among the 16-team field with a score of 60.63 after the short program at the Spring Cup in Milan, Italy.

Miami senior will round out its stint at the Spring Cup with Sunday's free skate event, which will start at approximately 10 a.m. (ET). The RedHawk collegiate team also will be in action on Sunday at the Tri States Competition in Bowling Green, Ohio at approximately 10:40 a.m.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- One of two teams representing the United States at the event, Miami posted a technical element score of 31.11 and a program component score of 30.52.
- The RedHawks' 60.63 score leads Sweden's seventh-place Inspire (57.58) by more than three points and trails the other U.S. Team, fifth-place Skyliners (67.85), by just over seven points.
- Canada's Les Supremes lead the 16-team field with a score of 76.69 heading into Sunday's free skate portion. Canada's Nexxice sits in second place with a score of 75.37, while the two teams from Finland—Dream Edges (72.76) and Unique (70.17)—sit in third and fourth, respectively.
- The Spring Cup is part of the Challenger Series Synchronized Skating, which consists of up to five international competitions linked together to provide adequate opportunities for many teams to compete at the international level and earn World Standing Points while also preparing to compete at the ISU Championships. The Spring Cup's competition field is comprised of 16 teams representing 10 different countries.
