RedHawks Travel to Face Bulls on Saturday

ON TAP: The Miami University women's basketball team closes out a road trip with a trip to face the Buffalo Bulls on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m.

MIAMI'S BIG-3: The RedHawks have three of the top-12 scorers in the MAC, highlighted by Ivy Wolf (16.8, 5th), Peyton Scott (15.2, 9th) and Maddi Cluse (14.6, 12th). Combined, the trio scores 47 of Miami's 69 points per contest.

TOE THE LINE: No one gets to the free throw line more in the Mid-American Conference than the RedHawks. Through 26 games, Miami has attempted 505 (19.4/game) free throws this season. Not only do the RedHawks get to the line ... they make them count. As a team, Miami is third in the conference in free throw percentage (76.4%). Individually, Ivy Wolf ranks first in the MAC (90.8%) and Peyton Scott is fourth (84.8%).

ABOUT BUFFALO: The Bulls are 9-13 overall and 4-9 in Mid-American Conference play. They rank ninth in scoring (63.9) among its conference peers and seventh defensively (65.4). Re'Shawna Stone is tops on the team with a 16.5 scoring average, while Zakiyah Winfield averages 15.0 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest.

SERIES WITH THE BULLS: This will be the 49th meeting between the two schools with Buffalo holding a 28-20 all-time advantage. UB has won each of the last 15 contests and the RedHawks have not won at Alumni Arena since Feb. 21, 2015.

ROUND TWO WITH UB: These same two teams played just a few weeks ago (Feb. 1), with Buffalo escaping with an 81-76 victory. In the loss, Peyton Scott had 27 points and was joined by Ivy Wolf (12), Amani Freeman (12) and Maddi Cluse (11) in double figures.

NOW "BOARD"ING: The RedHawks rank just ninth in the MAC in rebounding (35.5 boards/game) but, have out-rebounded eight of their last 12 opponents, including +9 on the boards in the win at NIU and +7 versus the WMU Broncos.

HOME SWEET HOME: Miami is 8-6 at home this season and 1-11 away from Millett Hall. That lone road win was on Jan. 18 at NIU (74-69).

HUNGRY LIKE A WOLF: After an outstanding freshman campaign, where she averaged 12.6 points per contest,  sophomore Ivy Wolf has taken the next step in her career. Wolf is fifth in the MAC in scoring (16.8) and ninth in assists (3.7). She has scored at least 20 points in eight games this year.

GETTING A CLUE: After an up and down freshman season, where Maddi Cluse averaged 6.5 points per contest, the second-year RedHawk seems to have things figured out in 2022-23. Cluse currently ranks 12th in the MAC with a 14.6 scoring average. She is also sixth in rebounding (7.5). The sophomore has seven double-doubles this season (and one triple-double) after recording just two her freshman campaign.

MAGICAL MILESTONES: The RedHawks have had several individual moments during the 2022-23 season:

• Feb. 8 -- Maddi Cluse scored her 500th career point in the win over WMU.

GREAT SCOTT: Senior guard Peyton Scott has accomplished a ton since arriving in Oxford, all while maintaining a 3.78 grade-point average and majoring in sports leadership and management.
