Miami Back in Action vs. No. 15 Omaha

Miami returns home this weekend to battle No. 15/15 Omaha in NCHC play. The RedHawks (7-17-4, 2-13-3 NCHC) were off last week after earning a pair of ties at then-No. 5 St. Cloud State to begin the month of February. Omaha comes in at 15-10-3 (10-6-2 NCHC) after a 3-2 overtime win and 2-2 tie vs. Colorado College last weekend. This will be Miami Hockey's annual 'You Can Play' series, in support of the You Can Play Project's mission to ensure the safety and inclusion for all who participate in sports, including LGBTQ+ athletes, coaches and fans.

Both games in Oxford will be streamed on NCHC.tv, with puck drop set for 7:05 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17 and 5:05 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18. Friday's game will air on WKBV 1490 AM (Richmond, Ind.), while Saturday's game will be broadcast on WMOH 1450 AM The Ticket (Hamilton, Ohio). Greg Waddell and Drew Davis will have the call both nights.

Miami leads the all-time series against the Mavericks 29-23-7. Omaha swept both meetings in January, winning 4-1 and 2-0 at Baxter Arena. The RedHawks captured three of four meetings from UNO last season. Miami has won five straight against the Mavs at Steve "Coach" Cady Arena dating to February 2019.

Matthew Barbolini and John Waldron each have nine goals to lead Miami's offense this season. Barbolini has a team-high 12 assists, one ahead of Max Dukovac. Goaltender Ludvig Persson is 7-14-4 this year with an .890 save percentage and 3.54 GAA.

Head coach Chris Bergeron and sophomore center Red Savage met with the media this week to preview the matchup against the Mavericks.
