ON TAP: The Miami University women's basketball team heads to Mt. Pleasant, Mich. to face the Central Michigan Chippewas on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m.
MIAMI'S BIG-3: The RedHawks have three of the top-13 scorers in the MAC, highlighted by
Ivy Wolf (17.3, 3rd),
Peyton Scott (14.7, 11th) and
Maddi Cluse (14.2, 13th). Combined, the trio scores 47 of Miami's 69 points per contest.Â
TOE THE LINE: No one gets to the free throw line more in the Mid-American Conference than the RedHawks. Through 25 games, Miami has attempted 484 (19.4/game) free throws this season (CMU is 12th - 13.5/game). Not only do the RedHawks get to the line ... they make them count. Wolf ranks first in the MAC in free throw percentage (.908),
Peyton Scott is fourth (.844) and Cluse is 21st (.713).
ABOUT CMU: The Chippewas are 5-18 overall and 3-9 in Mid-American Conference play. They rank 11th in the conference, averaging 62.8 points per contest and are led by Sydney Harris (16.9) and Bridget Utberg (11.5).
SERIES WITH THE CHIPPEWAS: This will be the 71st meeting between the two schools with CMU holding a slight 36-34 all-time advantage. CMU has won 16 of the last 20 contest, but the RedHawks have won the past two (both in Oxford). Miami's last win at McGuirk was back on Jan. 16, 2019.
ROUND TWO WITH THE CHIPS: These same two teams played just a few weeks ago (Jan. 28), with the RedHawks capturing a 77-68 victory.
Peyton Scott had 23 points and seven rebounds, while
Ivy Wolf (16),
Amani Freeman (12) and
Maddi Cluse (12) also scored in double figures.
NOW "BOARD"ING: The RedHawks rank just ninth in the MAC in rebounding (35.4 boards/game) but, have out-rebounded seven of their last 11 opponents, including +9 on the boards in the win at NIU and +7 last Wednesday in the win versus the Broncos.Â
HOME SWEET HOME: Miami is 8-6 at home this season and 1-10 away from Millett Hall. That lone road win was on Jan. 18 at NIU (74-69).
HUNGRY LIKE A WOLF: After an outstanding freshman campaign, where she averaged 12.6 points per contest, Â sophomore
Ivy Wolf has taken the next step in her career. Wolf is third in the MAC in scoring (17.3) and eighth in assists (3.6). She has scored at least 20 points in eight games this year.
GETTING A CLUE: After an up and down freshman season, where
Maddi Cluse averaged 6.5 points per contest, the second-year RedHawk seems to have things figured out in 2022-23. Cluse currently ranks 13th in the MAC with a 14.2 scoring average. She is also sixth in rebounding (7.5). The sophomore has seven double-doubles this season (and one triple-double) after recording just two her freshman campaign.
MAGICAL MILESTONES: The RedHawks have had several individual moments during the 2022-23 season:

Ivy Wolf scored her 500th career point, the third fastest in program history to do so.Â

Maddi Cluse recorded the second triple-double in program history, registering 18 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in an 82-56 win over Bradley. The last triple-double for Miami was from Linda Mallender on Dec. 14, 1984.
• Dec. 17 --
Peyton Scott secured her 500th career rebound, becoming just one of three RedHawks in program history to score 1,500 points and record 500 career rebounds.Â

Maddi Cluse scored her 500th career point in the win over WMU.
GREAT SCOTT: Senior guard
Peyton Scott has accomplished a ton since arriving in Oxford, all while maintaining a 3.78 grade-point average and majoring in sports leadership and management.
• Scott suffered an ACL tear on March 5, 2022 at Akron and returned to play on Nov. 21, 2022 against Western Kentucky.
• She has scored 1,764 points and ranks fourth all-time on Miami's scoring list.
• Scott was named to the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Preseason Award Watch List.
• Two seasons ago, she scored 30-plus points in five different games, including 39 versus Ball State, a new Millett Hall record. She has surpassed 30-plus points six different times in her career.
• She has scored in double figures 90 times in her career and has surpassed 20 points 33 different times.
• Named second-team All-MAC the past two seasons and was on the MAC All-Freshman team in 2019-20.
• Scott has started 102 of 105 games in her career.
SHOOTING STARS: Miami is having its best season shooting under Coach Hendrix. As a team, Miami is shooting 42.0% from the floor (previous best was 40.3% in 2021-22) and 33.8% from behind the arc (previous best was 29.2% in 2021-22). Miami currently ranks fourth in the MAC as a team in three-point percentage.
SAVING THE BEST FOR LAST: In
Amani Freeman's first three years, she combined to score 134 points and pull down 90 rebounds ... TOTAL. This season alone, Freeman has scored 197 points and added 124 rebounds. She is coming off a 16 points/10 rebound performance against WMU last week.
