OXFORD, Ohio—The RedHawks returned to Millett Hall this past Saturday for a basketball doubleheader for the eighth annual Love.Honor.Care day. The women's basketball matchup against rival Toledo and the following men's game against Central Michigan drew a combined crowd of more than 6,000 people at Miami University.
Love.Honor.Care is a Miami Athletics initiative to raise funds for local cancer support organizations, which has brought in $15,670 (and counting) for Ride Cincinnati in 2023. Fans were able to request complimentary tickets for both games Saturday, with President Greg and Dr. Renate Crawford underwriting the cost. A portion of the proceeds for each ticket went to support Ride Cincinnati, an organization funding cancer research and care in the greater Cincinnati area.
Attendees were treated to a Carnival on the Concourse, a halftime light ceremony to honor those fighting against cancer, a silent auction and opportunities to purchase apparel in support for fundraising efforts. The Miami basketball teams also hosted autograph sessions at the conclusion of each game.
