For their performances last week, Lucia Ventos and Joseph Canitano are Miami's Athletes of the Week, presented by Skyline Chili for the week of Sept. 8.
 

Female Winner: Lucia Ventos
Lucia Ventos scored two goals Friday to lift Miami Field Hockey to a 4-1 win over New Hampshire as the RedHawks improved to 3-0 on the year. Ventos scored the first and last goal for Miami in 54 minutes of action. A junior from Barcelona, Spain, she is studying Emerging Technology in Business and Design in the College of Creative Arts.










Male Winner: Joseph Canitano
Joseph Canitano made his RedHawk debut last week at the Island Resort Intercollegiate in Harris, Mich. The Milton, Ga. native carded seven birdies in his final 36 holes and finished with a score of 214 (75-69-70) to tie for 40th overall and lead the Red and White, earning MAC Golfer of the Week recognition for his efforts. Canitano is a sophomore Fincance major in the Farmer School of Business from Milton, Ga.
