Late-Game Heroics Lift Miami to 68-66 OT Win at Oakland

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Maddy Huhn and Cori Lard each connected on three pointers in the final 19 seconds of regulation to send the contest to overtime before Jada Scott's baseline jumper with .7 seconds remaining in overtime helped secure a 68-66 victory for the Miami University women's basketball team versus Oakland on Thursday evening.
Amber Tretter had a career-best 19 points, 13 rebounds and six assists for the RedHawks (2-7), while Jada Scott scored 12 and Lakresha Edwards added 11. Brooke Quarles-Daniels led Oakland (4-6) with 22 points.

How it Happened:
- Hennessey Luu-Brown knocked in a triple with 52 seconds remaining in the first quarter to give Miami a 9-8 advantage. The RedHawks held the Golden Grizzlies to 3-of-20 shooting in the first 10 minutes of action.
- Tretter's jumper midway through the second quarter gave Miami a 16-12 lead, before Oakland answered with a 10-2 run to reclaim a 22-18 advantage. Oakland led 25-22 at the half.
- Miami opened the second half on a 6-0 run, capped by a Tretter layup and moments later Edwards knocked down a triple from the corner to make it 31-25 Miami. After both teams exchanged a handful of baskets, Tretter connected on a baseline jumper with 1:38 left to spot Miami a 42-35 advantage. The Grizzlies closed the quarter on a 6-1 run to trail 43-41.
- Oakland's run continued into the fourth quarter, extending their advantage to 47-43 with 7:28 to play. Jadyn Scott connected on back-to-back buckets and Edwards made her second triple of the game to get Miami to within one, 51-50 with three minutes to play. After Oakland scored to make it 53-50, Jadyn Scott drove the lane to once again make it a one-point deficit with 84 seconds to play. Moments later, Oakland drilled a triple to improve their lead to four and added a pair of free throws to make it 58-52 with 23 seconds to play. Coming out of a timeout, Huhn knocked in a three-pointer to make it a one-possession game. Lard stole the ensuing inbounds and tied the game at 58-58 with a triple from the wing to send the game to overtime.
- Miami trailed 64-60 with 1:37 left in OT. Jada Scott made a pair of free throws to make it a two-point game with 1:07 to go and Edwards drilled a three-pointer from the corner for Miami's first lead since early in the fourth quarter with 34 seconds to play. After Huhn split a pair from the line, Oakland tied the contest at 66 with 15 seconds to play with a jumper from the foul line. Jada Scott beat her defender and pulled up for a baseline jumper with .7 seconds remaining for the game-winner.
