Miami Falls at Michigan, 75-49

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Jadyn Scott scored 11 points and Jada Scott added 10, but the Miami University women's basketball team (1-7) fell 75-49 to Michigan on Saturday afternoon. The Wolverines (9-2) were led by Elissa Brett's 27 points.

How it Happened:
  • Michigan claimed a 7-0 lead in the opening minutes of play. Jada Scott ended this early run by the Wolverines after knocking down a pair of free throws with 4:50 left in the first. A triple from Maddy Huhn and a layup from Jada Scott brought Miami within three points at 10-7. Michigan ended the quarter with a 15-9 lead.
  •  Huhn opened the second quarter by knocking down a jumper to make it 15-11. Five straight points from Jadyn Scott Kept Miami within four at 20-16 with 7:19 left in the quarter. The Wolverines utilized a 13-0 run to extend their lead to 33-16 as halftime approached. Huhn put in her second three of the game to end this offensive push from Michigan. The RedHawks trailed 38-23 heading into the intermission.
  • Amber Tretter scored the first points of the third quarter with a jumper to trail 38-25. A pair of layups from Hennessey Luu-Brown and Cori Lard put the score at 41-29 with 6:04 in the third. Michigan once again tried to pull away at 47-31, but the RedHawks responded by going on a 7-0 run at the end of the third quarter. Lakresha Edwards closed the quarter by sinking a shot from behind the three-point line to bring the score under double-digits at 47-38.
  • Jadyn Scott put in a couple of free throws and a layup to make it 48-42 with 8:29 to play. The Wolverines went on to find their rhythm and claimed a 75-49 victory.
 
Game Notes:
  • Edwards recorded a career-high four assists.
  • Tretter had a team-best seven rebounds.
