The Miami University women's basketball team looks for its second-straight win this Sunday in a 2 p.m. tilt at Michigan State.

Glenn Box recorded his first career win as head coach on Monday in a thrilling 58-57 overtime win over Xavier.
GREAT SCOTT: Senior
Jadyn Scott currently leads the team in scoring (14.5) and rebounding (6.3) and is second in assists (1.8). She has led the team in scoring in three of four games this season, including a career best 23 points at Louisiana at Monroe on Nov. 11.
IN WITH THE NEW: Head Coach
Glenn Box and his staff brought in eight new players for the 2023-24 campaign. Joining the RedHawks are four transfers and four freshmen, including one from Spain and two from Canada.
FRESHMEN IMPACT: Freshmen
Amber Tretter,
Maddy Huhn and
Lakresha Edwards have found a way to quickly help the Red and White. In her collegiate debut, Tretter scored 10 points and added three rebounds. She also had the game-winning bucket with 6.5 seconds remaining to down Xavier. Huhn has scored 21 points over her last three games, including a career best nine against Western Kentucky and
Lakresha Edwards scored 14 points in the win over Xavier.
ABOUT MICHIGAN STATE: Michigan State is currently 5-1 (play on Friday) on the season and average 93.3 points per contest. DeeDee Hagemann (15.0) is one of five Spartans averaging double figures for an offense that has 140 assists and just 74 turnovers this season.
SERIES WITH MICHIGAN STATE: This will be the seventh meeting between the two schools with Miami holding a 4-2 all-time series advantage. MSU won the most recent meeting back on Nov. 30, 2014 by a score of 85-39. Prior to that, Miami won three straight.
XAVIER RECAP: Freshman
Amber Tretter's putback with 6.5 seconds remaining gave the Miami University women's basketball team a 58-57 overtime win over Xavier on Monday evening. The win was the first for head coach

PAINT THE TOWN RED: After recording just four second-chance points and 20 points in the paint in the season-opening loss to Vermont, Miami has flipped the script. Over the past three games, Miami has recorded 29 second-chance points and 88 points in the paint.
NEW IMPACT: Miami's newcomers have dominated the box score this season in points (178 of 211/84%), rebounds (104 of 113/92%), field goals made (71 of 83/86%) and minutes played (717 of 825/87%).
TOP RETURNER: Junior
Katey Richason entered the 2023-24 season as Miami's top returning scorer (3.9 points/game). After scoring in double-figures just three times in her first two seasons, Richason scored nine points at Vermont, and had her second career double-double (11 pts. and 11 rebs.) in the win over Xavier.
SISTER, SISTER: Twin sisters Jadyn and
Jada Scott were four-year letter winners for the Cincinnati Bearcats before joining Miami. The duo combined to play in 194 games in their career at UC. Last season Jadyn was eighth on the team in scoring (3.6), while Jada was 11th (1.8). In their first year with the RedHawks the duo ranks first and fourth for Miami in scoring.
BREAKOUT PERFORMANCE: Lakresha Edwards played a combined 17 minutes in Miami's first three games this season, scoring five total points. In the win over Xavier, Edwards played a team-high 41 minutes, finishing with a career-best 14 points.
WOMAN OF STEAL: Since seeing a major increase in playing time, junior guard
Cori Lard has made a living on the defensive side of the ball. She has nine steals over the past two games, including a career best five steals versus Western Kentucky.
