Radio: Miami Sports Network/TuneIn App • Tim Bray

NEW BEGINNINGS: Monday will be the first game for head coach Glenn Box. Box was named the 10th head coach in women's basketball history on May 8, 2023.

OUT WITH THE OLD: With coaching changes comes roster changes many times and Miami is no different. Gone are Miami's top five scorers from a year ago and in all, seven players from the 2022-23 squad departed Oxford.

IN WITH THE NEW: Head Coach Glenn Box and his staff brought in eight new players for the 2023-24 campaign. Joining the RedHawks are four transfers and four freshmen, including one from Spain and another from British Columbia.

SISTER SISTER: When Monday night's contest begins there will be a friendly rivalry on the court ... between sisters. Vermont's Delaney Richason will square off with younger sister Katey Richason.

ABOUT VERMONT: Vermont went 25-7 a year ago and 14-2 in the American East, capturing the conference tournament and advancing to face UConn in the NCAA Tournament. The Catamounts were picked to repeat as AE regular season champions in the preseason poll and Emma Utterback and Anna Olson were both picked preseason all-conference. Utterback averaged 14.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game a year ago, while Olson led the team at 6.5 rebounds per contest and finished second on the team in scoring (11.4).

SERIES WITH VERMONT: This will be just the second meeting between the two schools with the RedHawks holding a 1-0 all-time series advantage.

LAST MEETING: Miami downed the Catamounts on Nov. 11, 2022 in Millett Hall. Vermont's Delaney Richason had 13 points and five boards, while Miami's Katey Richason had three points and three rebounds in the win.

WHAT RETURNS: With the roster transition from a year ago, Miami's top returning scorer is Katey Richason (3.9), followed by Clare Chambers (2.1), Riley Neal (1.7) and Jessie Dai (0.9). In all, Miami returns just 8.6 points (12.2%) and 6.0 rebounds (16.8%) from a year ago. Jordan Tuff, who missed last season with an ACL injury, is expected back this season as well.
