OXFORD, Ohio- The Miami soccer team lost to Bowling Green at Bobby Kramig Field on Thursday night by a final score of 3-2. Morhéa Hoefen scored the first goal of her collegiate career for the RedHawks, with Taylor Hamlett adding her third goal in the last five matches. Miami falls to 4-8-1 (1-4-0 in MAC) and Bowling Green improves to 6-4-1 (4-0-1 in MAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lexi Czerwien opened the scoring for Bowling Green in the sixth minute on a shot around 12-yards out after an assist from Brynn Gardener.
- Miami evened the score on a chaotic corner kick that ended with Hoefen finding a way to get it past everyone on the line in the 20th minute.
- Bowling Green took the lead back on a ball in from Gardener which was finished off by Ellie Pool in the 31st minute.
- Katie Cox doubled the Falcons' lead off a free kick that she put into the top corner from just outside the 18-yard box in the 34th minute.
- Hamlett headed in a goal on a corner kick from Camber Hayes in the 42nd minute.
NOTES
- The RedHawks had 15 shots to the Falcons' eight.
- Miami had nine corner kicks to Bowling Green's four.
- Hamlett and Haley Anspach both had two shots on target.
